Set on a massive site that straddles the counties of Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire, the GP circuit at Silverstone is equally massive. It has recently been redeveloped to make it more friendly for the MotoGP brigade and consists of 3.6 miles of ultra fast straights and every sort of corner.
Even the most casual of motorsport fan will be familiar with the names of Maggotts, Copse, Stowe, Club etc... Although not overly physical, you definitely get a mental workout on this long track with several corners strung together and concentration is a must to avoid being caught out by the direction changes. Silverstone is the widest circuit in the UK at 15m, and you'll use all of this width as you complete your lap. A 1000cc bike here will really get a good run out, but a 600cc is enormous fun through the technical sections.
It's impossible to mention Silverstone without mentioning its prestigious history and still the circuit remains at the forefront of world motorsport. It's no surprise therefore that the paddock facilities are superb and spectators are well catered for.
