Cartagena is situated in the south west of Spain and has a fabulous climate all year round. Although not hosting top level racing, the circuit is a popular pre season testing ground, particularly with the likes of BSB teams. It was built in the early 1990s and has since undergone refurbishment, with great paddock facilities, good organisation and lots of safe run off areas that make it equally popular with track day enthusiasts. The track itself is set in what looks like a disused quarry and is very twisty with a good mixture of tricky slow or medium speed corners and a 600 metre long straight. Along with the impressive elevation changes this makes for a physically demanding circuit that requires concentration to maintain momentum. The surface is reckoned to be one of the grippiest anywhere.
